Let’s talk jacks. With our Phaeton, gone are the days of driving up on the plastic lego-like or homemade wooden blocks to get us level. Now it’s a simple push of the button and we are set. But, the surface we camp on sometimes needs better support, especially on asphalt or dirt. And, let’s face it, not all camping spots are nice and level. Then it’s all about raising/lowering the RV to keep all wheels on the ground and let me tell you, jack pads are a Godsend.
Especially these jack pads. Mark really is good at finding the perfect gadget for our adventures. Once again it was Amazon to the rescue; https://www.amazon.com/Quality-Plastics-Utility-Block-Four/dp/B00PX1KITE/ref=lp_9519063011_1_1?srs=9519063011&ie=UTF8&qid=1510339601&sr=8-1. We use them at almost every campsite, except at this one of course when I want to get pictures of them in action.
We have eight and have needed all eight a number of times. They stack nicely on each other in a way that mimics interlocking. The bright yellow handles sure help when maneuvering them for placement under the jacks then pulling them out when we leave. Grabbing them when we leave is my job and I’m thankful for the handles each and every time.
They are made of a hard plastic. We regularly camp in the summer in some hot places and they’ve held up well, never losing their shape or structure. They are also surprisingly easy to drive up on and at 9.75″ x 9.75″ x 1.5″ they are large enough to have the tire completely on the surface. Storage is a snap, as well. We stack them handle up in one of our storage compartments.
