Mark’s girlfriend, aka our Phaeton, just had a luxurious spa day. She’s a lucky girl.
Every February Andrew and his wonderful crew from ANS Detailing work their magic on this pretty girl. Mark found Andrew shortly after we bought this new girlfriend and we’ve been using him ever since.
He is based out of Scottsdale and spends most of the winter working on coaches of all makes and models. In June he heads to Spearfish, SD where he and his crews work sunup to sundown for many events in the area. He also spends time on the California coast in Monterey during their popular and prestigious Monterey Car Week & Concours d’Elegance in August. He told me about a client there that has him take care of a fleet of cars. I’d love to see that fleet. I’m picturing old Mercedes, Jaguars and sporty red roadsters. I’ve never been to this event in person but have watched in on TV and it is an amazing collection of cars.
Back to the spa day…
They start at the top and give the roof a good scrubbing then move onto the front, back and sides. He uses a deionized water system so even on this windy day, spots are never a problem. Even the slide-out walls get in on the action with a nice wash and wax. They open all of our window awnings in order to get every single part of the coach.
Then it’s onto the good stuff with a high-end wax; he uses Meguiar’s Finishing Wax on the girlfriend. When that’s ready, it’s buffed to a mirror-like shine with their high-speed but gentle orbital buffers. I have to keep myself from running my hands down the side when they are finished because it feels so good.
No part of the coach gets missed; their attention to detail is amazing. When they are finished, Andrew walks around the coach with Mark and points out things that we need to be aware of.
The polished rock guard in the back looks pretty, as if she’s flirting with us. “Take me somewhere,” she whispers.
David Bott, who writes the blog Outside Our Bubble added drone video of Andrew and his crew detailing his RV last year. You should check it out, it’s a cool video and shows Andrew’s good work.
I can’t wait for our next trip. As much as I love rain, I sure hope it doesn’t for a couple of weeks.
