Like a lot of people, we are counting the days until Thanksgiving. For the first time in many years, we will be at home instead of in the middle of the desert with our dirt bikes.
It’s going to be different, but in a good way. I’m actually looking forward to it.
We will still be stuffing our face with good food, especially all the side dishes. Don’t get me wrong, I love turkey but all the delicious side dishes take up most of my plate.
In honor of the food fest, we’re sharing all of our favorites in one place!
Aunt Petti’s Cornbread Casserole
No Thanksgiving is complete without it. Even it’s just a few of us, I always double the recipe so I can have leftovers. Our secret, I love it for breakfast.
Aunt Nancy’s Cranberry Jello Salad
This is another must-have for Thanksgiving and Christmas and Easter and a weekend BBQ. I’ll happily make and eat this year-round.
Sweet potatoes are a Thanksgiving staple in our house. I’m a sucker for sweet potatoes, I love them baked that I eat plain. They are sweet enough for me. Serve them mashed with a praline topping and I am a crazy girl with a spoon.
Plain potatoes are so last year. Adding bacon and cheddar takes plain potatoes to a whole new level.
Whatever you feast on, we hope you are enjoying your time with those you cherish.
