Oh, I think you’re going to like these as much as we do.
We’ve been playing a lot with our air fryer lately. We like how easy it is to use and how many things you can do with it besides reheating leftovers.
Mark has become a big green beans fan so I’m always looking for new ways to make them. This recipe caught my eye because it used frozen green beans.
It’s also versatile. You can switch “the extras” to make it your own. We make it with cayenne pepper and parmesan cheese most often. It’s also great with some chopped bacon. When he is out of town, I like it with a squeeze of lemon and pepper.
The air fryer is a great tool in the RV, especially in the summer. While we do most of our cooking outside when we camp, we still use the oven just like at home. The AF doesn’t heat the coach as much as the oven which is always a plus when it’s hot outside.
Ready, grab your AF and let’s go!
Preheat the AF to 375°. The original recipe says 380° but ours skips right over that temp so we use 375°.
Dump the green beans in a medium to large sized bowl. You want room to stir without them flying out. Melt the butter then pour it over the beans and give it a good stir. The butter will reharden a little while stirring it in with the cold beans.
Now, add your extras. The original recipe called for one tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning. That’s not something we normally have in the pantry so we opted for the cayenne pepper. Note, this is not a one-for-one exchange. We used one teaspoon of cayenne the first time and now use ¾ teaspoon. If you’re adding cheese, add it here.
Give it a good stir and add the green bean mixture to the AF basket. If you have any extra cheese, or are like us and like extra cheese, sprinkle it on top of the green beans.
Cook in the AF for 10-11 minutes, tossing the basket at the halfway point. When you toss, you give it a few good shakes to move the beans around.
Use a wooden or silicone spoon or silicone spatula to remove the beans and devour.
Store any leftovers in a sealed container. To reheat in AF, preheat to 350° and cook until hot, maybe a 2-4 minutes depending on how much you have.
