People often post questions on different forums about “must have” items for their RV. The responses range from a plethora of tools to wine openers and more. We also have a list of things that are so important they stay in our Phaeton. Yes, tools and a wine opener are on that list. So is this EZ Hook. We have two, one for the house and one for the RV.
This thing is amazing for cooking. You can use it to turn the heaviest cut of meat to the lightest fish on the grill. It also makes easy work turning bacon and vegetables. The design is genius. It’s a really sharp point on a 45-degree angle curve. The handle is long enough to keep your hands away from the heat.
My in-laws bought theirs at Quartzsite and showed it off the next time we were camping with them. Dave was proudly hoisting large steaks and turning potatoes with ease. All the guys had to get a look that this thing.
The next morning while cooking a big breakfast, we got to try it with bacon and sausage. It was a lot easier to turn the bacon with this than it ever was with tongs.
We had to have one, make that two. Mark received them both for Father’s Day.
It comes with a little plastic cover for the sharp point at the end but we promptly lost it. It would be easier to keep track of if it was a color, any color but clear. It’s not a big deal that the cover is gone, though. After using it, I wash the tip in soapy water. It fits easily in the RV drawer and I slide it in on the side so the point is directed at the drawer wall.
If you’re looking for a great gift for someone who likes to BBQ or travel in their RV, this is it.
We have a similar product bought off Amazon called the Pig Tail Flipper.
You get a 19″ length (great for reaching into a hot fire while searing steaks) and a 12″ length for standard cooking. We absolutely love ours, although it stays at home for backyard cooking.
Could see a need for the 12″ on the RV.
