We’re so excited to be part of the upcoming FMCA Rally in Perry, Georgia!
The mayor says Perry is where Georgia comes together. He also states, “Our community currently encompasses 16.4 square miles along Interstate 75 approximately 90 miles south of Atlanta. Perry has been able to capitalize on proximity to Robins Air Force Base, excellent schools, unique downtown, high quality of life, and location in transforming from a small town to a vibrant and growing community of over 16,000 people. As a hub of state and federal highways, home of the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter, and with events like the Dogwood Festival, Food Truck Fridays, the Perry Music Festival, and the annual Perry Buzzard Drop, Perry truly is where Georgia comes together.”
All that’s missing from his paragraph is the FMCA Rally. What’s up with that?
Events might be a little different this year. Click on the link for the most up to date Covid information in Perry.
Below are three items in a very long list of things to do in Perry. You’ll definitely catch me on the walking tour and at the orchard. Love me some peaches!
Walk in and around Downtown Perry and view the town history on their historic walking tour. Spend a couple of hours, see buildings that date to the early 1800’s while you get enough exercise for a dessert in one of the restaurants along the way.
Travel Advisor has this to say: The Go Fish Education Center takes visitors on an educational journey through Georgia’s watersheds to learn about our diverse aquatic wildlife, their natural habitats and the impacts of water pollution. Beyond that, the Center serves as a great resource of fishing information for any level of angler – where to go, what to use and when. We have over 170,000 gallons of aquatic exhibits that feature fish from the mountains, piedmont, coastal plain and swamp habitats of Georgia.
Their website tells their story in one short sentence: Started in 1908, Lane Southern Orchards has been growing peaches and pecans continuously for over 100 years!
It’s located 12 miles northwest of the fairgrounds. That’s not too far, I will for sure be visiting this place while we are in Perry!
There are even more things to do in the Perry area. I googled “things to do in Perry” and a long list popped up. I like the Travel Advisor List because it’s gives a little synopsis and the website so you can get all the information you want in a couple of clicks.
It’s almost Rally Time…SEE YOU THERE!
